Ural Owl ! Certain parts of Scandinavia experience an increased rodent population this spring. This male owl in Dalarne is guarding the nest site.

...also the beautiful and mystic Great-grey Owl is nesting in the deep Swedish woods this year. This evening the adult male is out hunting rodents.

In late and quiet evenings the trumpeting of the Common Cranes are not unusal to hear. Dalarne Sweden.

The sub arctic Whooper Swanes are slowly expanding southwards in Scandinavia. On the remote marshes they sometimes can nest beside the Cranes.

After returning back to Norway again there came report of nesting Hawk Owls in Sirdal. This female owl is sitting at the nest containing 4 youngs.

|
Due to the rodent peak that also streches to the west coast of southern Norway several pairs of Rough-legged Buzzards are nesting here.
